“I wish I would have listened to my mom and taken care of my eyes from an early age. She always encouraged me to wear sunglasses, decrease screen time, and go outside. I now know the importance of UV protection and decreasing screen time, especially for young children. So, be sure to listen to your mom – and your eye doctor! Your future self will thank you!” – Dr. Alyssa Ashley
When not working, you will likely find Dr. Ashley at K-9 Coastline, the dog friendly section of Edgewater, where she happily takes her two German Shepherds to walk and play. Otherwise, Dr. Ashley loves to spend her free time taking in an outdoor concert or hitting up an amusement park. Simply put, she loves being outside and around people. And if you’re a fan of Greek food, please ask her about her mother-in-law’s Moussaka, dolmades and baklava! Dr. Ashley will tell you, without hesitation, that no one makes them better than her – not even in Greece!
The path was set in the 6th grade after researching careers for a school project. This path led Dr. Ashley to obtain a Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences at The Ohio State University. She opted to stay put to earn her Doctor of Optometry degree. A native of North Royalton, she and her husband currently call Medina home (if you find yourself in Medina, she encourages you to try P.J. Marley’s and take a stroll around the square). Dr. Ashley is a member of the Ohio Optometric Association and is a firm believer in giving back through community service. She sees patients at our Broadview Heights location.
