“I received my first pair of glasses when I was 7 and can still remember that “wow” feeling when I slid them on for the first time. I’ve been fascinated ever since! My childhood optometrist and staff were so friendly and made going to the doctor such a fun and fulfilling experience. I strive to recreate the same experience for all my patients.” – Dr. Alyssa Vu
Dr. Vu is not a native Clevelander but has quickly fallen in love with this city and is seeking out all the hidden gems she can. Right now, she happily declares the wings at Characters in Parma are the best around with a phenomenal Gyro nacho appetizer that she declares will “blow your mind!” But as good as those wings are, they don’t compare to her favorite meal on Earth: The Vietnamese dish Bun Thit Nuong, which has lemongrass marinated pork on top of vermicelli noodles filled with various herbs and fresh vegetables.
Dr. Vu graduated from University of Cincinnati and attended optometry school at Illinois College of Optometry. She graduated with clinical honors and received additional training at the Cornea and Contact Lens Institute of Minnesota. She currently serves as the secretary of the Cleveland Optometric Association, and is an active member of the AOA and OOA. Dr. Vu is very passionate about private practice optometry and joined Broad View Eye Center in 2023, where she sees patients only at the Broadview Heights location. She currently resides in Parma with her fiance, Spencer and their dog Mia.
