Soon we’re going to know a lot about you, so it’s only fair that you get to know a bit about us too! Of course, we have included some of the traditional credentials, but we also included the fun stuff. Read on and catch glimpses of what makes us who we are and find out what we enjoy doing when we’re not focused on advocating for our patient’s eye health.
Upon graduating from The Ohio State University College of Optometry in 2001, Dr. Scott founded the practice in the Fall of 2002. With a specialty in pediatrics, she received a fellowship from the College of Optometrists in Vision Development, to further her knowledge and study of pediatrics and binocular vision.
Dr. Kosunick grew up in Solon (go, Comets!) and never envisioned crossing the bridge to set up roots on the west side. However, now she couldn’t imagine life any other way. Dr. Kosunick is a proud resident of Olmsted Township, where she and her fellow optometrist husband, Greg, are raising their three children.
As a child, Dr. Wiersma was inspired early on by the immediate gratification of improved eyesight while sitting in an exam chair. This transformative experience took him from the University of Dayton, with a bachelor’s degree in Biology, to The Ohio State University College of Optometry, where he graduated Cum Laude.
Dr. Ashley obtained a Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences at The Ohio State University. She opted to stay put to earn her Doctor of Optometry degree. A native of North Royalton, she and her husband currently call Medina home (if you find yourself in Medina, she encourages you to try P.J. Marley’s and take a stroll around the square).
Dr. Alquist graduated in 2016 from The Ohio State University with a bachelor’s degree in Food Science and Technology. Being the ever-devoted Buckeye, Dr. Alquist continued her college career at The Ohio State College of Optometry and graduated cum laude.
Dr. Vu graduated from University of Cincinnati and attended optometry school at Illinois College of Optometry. She graduated with clinical honors and received additional training at the Cornea and Contact Lens Institute of Minnesota.
Meet Dr. Karen Malaski, a visionary optometrist with a knack for solving problems. She started her college career with the intent on becoming a dentist, but hold on to your water picks! The thought of all that drilling made her rethink her career path, and optometry it was.
